NOTE: There may be additional directories within the ForteSystem directory depending on your system configuration.

All DLL’s and OCX’s will be installed into the system or sys1 sub-directory. The only exception is the graph control ocx (graphs32.ocx) which must be installed in the windows system directory (winnt\system32 or windows\system32).

Security:
Forté computers are typically shipped with no special security setup. They have one user, Administrator, with no password. Security and network setup is the responsibility of the customer. We recommend setting up the users and security of the Forte computer the same way you would for any other workstation on your network.
The main requirement is that the Windows user operating the Forté system needs to have read and write access to the "ForteSystem" directory.

If a firewall is in place, it may need to be configured to allow a network socket connection from the main Forté computer to the Remote Profile computer. This is typically port 5001.
