NOTE: There may be additional directories within the ForteSystem directory depending on your system configuration.

All DLL’s and OCX’s will be installed into the system or sys1 sub-directory. The only exception is the graph control ocx (graphs32.ocx) which must be installed in the windows system directory (winnt\system32 or windows\system32).

The Forté standard applications (a.k.a. stand-alone applications) can be installed on any computer for training purposes. The customer specific application is not required in this situation.

THE FORTÉ CUSTOMER SPECIFIC APPLICATION MUST BE INSTALLED ALONG WITH THE FORTÉ STANDARD APPLICATIONS ON THE DESIGNATED FORTÉ COMPUTER FOR THE FORTÉ MMS TO BE FUNCTIONAL.

The customer specific application may require additional application components depending on the complexity of the design of the system. In these cases each additional component is supplied as a separate installation utility.

Examples are:

• Powerchute application for systems containing a ups backup supply.
• Hostess/Rocket port installation drivers for multi-channel serial communication support.
• Opto manager for discrete i / o interfacing to plc’s (ISA Opto 22 cards only)
• Opto22 PCIAC5 installation drivers.
• PCI Analog output card installation drivers.
• RSlinx for interfacing to Allen Bradley plc’s.
• Network Interface Card drivers for Ethernet interfaces.
